About Jon and Lisa
Jon and Lisa are a married indie (as in independent) D.I.Y indie rock duo from the mountains of North Carolina. We take a minimalistic approach to the way that we we do our music. It reflects the way that we live, what we believe, and how we live our lives. We have been a couple for 46 years in 2026, which is longer than a lot of people have been alive. We are grandparents, so we are still rockin’ in our old age. When we met, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin was still alive, and 1980’s new wave music was just starting. MTV wasn’t even a thing yet, computers were still wearing diapers, and the first pressing of Compact Disc’s (CD’s) was still over two years away. Oh, yeah, Jimmy Carter was still the President of the United States of America. We have seen many changes, good and bad happen.
We
released our only CD, Uncharted
Currents,
on May 16th,
2008. Eleven tracks of instrumental jam rock recorded in multiple
bedroom studios over the course of ten years.
It
became a world famous flop, with only 100 copies being produced, but
it has been listened to world-wide. However, even Mr. Google knows
about it, so
it wasn’t a total loss:
“Jon & Lisa Kukuk Project: A nostalgic, all-instrumental indie rock album and companion book by Jon Kukuk, detailing his childhood growing up on the banks of the Mississippi River. You can find the book on Lulu. [1, 2]”
